🐓 De-icer is thermostatically controlled, so it operates only when necessary, saving energy.
🐓 This de-icer is best used for water containers of 25-100 gallons.

🐓 HEATIT thermostatically controlled outlet turns on when below 38°F(3°C) and turns off automatically at approximately 50°F. (10°C).
🐓 Automatically turns power on and off according to ambient temperature. Save energy and save money.
🐓 HEATIT outlet has the smart indicator light: The indicator light turns on when it’s below 38° and it has energized the outlet.
🐓 Easy installation: Just plug this device into electrical outlet. Maximum 15 amps. CSA approved. Only use in dry locations.

Do you have to hook this up to a rain barrel?
No, you can hook this system up to any large container that can hold water and where you can drill openings for the two hoses. This de-icer is best used for water containers of 25 - 100 gallons.
Do you need electricity to use this system?
Yes. The pump and the de-icer require electricity to circulate the water. It is ideal to have an electrical outlet as close as possible to the system.
Can I use an extension cord?
Connecting the unit to an extension cord over a long distance will result in fewer volts and less power.
If an extension cord is used, it should be a heavy-gauge 3 conductor, designed for outdoor use only, and as short as possible.
Does this system with the winterizing bundle have to run continuously?
No, the Farm Innovators de-icer is self-regulating and will only turn on in freezing temps.
The HEATIT thermostatically controlled outlet will turn on at 38°F and shut off at 50°F
How do I clean the Farm Innovators De-Icer?
To clean the de-icer, use white vinegar and water, Lime-Away, or CLR. It's recommended to clean periodically during winter to maximize performance
and efficiency.
Is the de-Icer safe to use in plastic?
Yes. The Farm Innovators 1500-watt de-icer is safe to use in plastic. It is cast aluminum and has an anti-chew cord
Can ducks use this poultry water system?
Yes. This system is great for chickens, ducks, baby chicks (after two weeks old), quail, and turkeys.
Ducks do need to be able to dunk their heads, so they must have another water source, but they will drink from the water bar.
